SSA Assam will recruit 3914 teachers (Lower/ Upper primary). Online applications are invited from TET/ CTET qualified candidates.
With the approval of Education Department, Govt. of Assam recruitment process will begin with intake of applications from residents of Assam and TET/ CTET qualifiers for recruitment of Assistant teachers at Lower Primary and Upper Primary School on contractual basis under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan.
Online application portal for Assam teacher recruitment will open from 05 October. Interested and eligible candidates can submit their application till 25 October.
Eligibility Criteria for SSA Assam Teacher Recruitment
Only those candidates who fulfill the requisite eligibility criteria set can apply against 3914 vacancies.
For Assistant Teacher (Lower Primary School): At least 50% marks in Higher Secondary with LP- TET/CTET and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education Or At least 45% marks in Higher Secondary with LP- TET/CTET and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education Or At least 50% marks in Higher Secondary with LP- TET/CTET and 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) Or At least 50% marks in Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with LP- TET/CTET and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (Special Education) –Or Graduation from UGC recognized University with LPTET/CTET and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) from recognized institutes
For Assistant Teacher (Upper Primary School- Social Science): Graduation from UGC recognized University with UPTET/CTET and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) from recognized institutes –Or Graduation with at least 50% marks from UGC recognized University with UP- TET/CTET and 1-year Bachelor in Education(B.Ed.) from recognized institutes/University –Or Graduation with at least 45% marks from UGC recognized University with UP- TET/CTET and 1-year Bachelor in Education(B.Ed.) from recognized institutes/University in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations issued from time to time in this regard. –Or Graduation with at least 50% marks from UGC recognized University with UP- TET/CTET and 1-year Bachelor in Education (Special Education) from recognized institutes/University
For Assistant Teacher (Upper Primary School-Maths and Science): B.Sc. from UGC recognized University with UP-TET/CTET and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) from recognized institutes –Or B.Sc. with at least 50% marks from UGC recognized University with UP- TET/CTET and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) from recognized institutes/University –Or B.Sc. with at least 45% marks from UGC recognized University with UP- TET/CTET and 1-year Bachelor in Education(B.Ed.) from recognized institutes/University in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations issued from time to time in this regard. –Or B.Sc. with at least 50% marks from UGC recognized University with UP- TET/CTET and 1-year Bachelor in Education (Special Education) from recognized institutes/University.
For all the above posts, age limit is 18-43 years.

Selection Process for SSA Assam Teacher Recruitment
The online application and documents submitted by the candidates will be verified along with their original testimonials, in the respective Districts by the District Level Selection Committee. The District-wise detailed schedule of verification of documents will be notified in the Notice Board of the Office of the District Mission Co-ordinator (SSA) concerned. The District level verification will be held in the respective districts from 01 November till 22 November.
How to apply for SSA Assam Teacher Recruitment?
Interested and eligible candidates are required to send their applications online. After successful submission of the online form, candidates shall take a print out of the form and submit the same along-with self attested copies of mark sheets and certificates in support of educational qualification, caste, disability, TET/CTET, professional qualification (D El Ed/B Ed and Co-curricular activities at the time of documents verification before the District Level Selection Committee of the concerned District.
After submitting the online application form, the candidate will get a Unique Number against the submitted application. The candidate should keep the record of the Unique Number for all future reference.
Important Note for Applicants: Candidates should note that regular or contractual teachers working in Lower Primary schools ARE NOT allowed to apply any posts in Lower Primary schools. The regular or contractual teachers working in Upper Primary schools are not allowed to apply any posts in Upper Primary schools. However, regular and contractual Lower Primary teachers if otherwise eligible may apply in Upper Primary schools.
